The Many Uses Of Boilers

Boilers Heat Air And Water While Saving The Environment

The basic use for boilers is to heat air and water in homes and commercial buildings. These systems come in many different models and sizes with either elaborate or simple features that are designed to promote energy savings, while remaining environmentally friendly. To encourage the use of more energy efficient boilers such as the Burnham gas boilers and the Munchkin boiler, the Federal government is offering tax credits for homeowners who choose to have one of these systems installed in their home. The tax credit is designed to help defray some of the cost for having these boiler systems installed. This is because installation charges are usually a discouragement for many homeowners.

However, the efficiency costs that homeowners can save in as little as five years after installation exceeds the original cost of installation. Even with this incentive, only 150,000 units have been installed in U.S. homes. As more people begin to practice energy saving strategies, the realization of how green boilers can reduce more than utility bills is bound to resonate. It is also possible that the cost of installation will also reduce.

An important rating for energy efficiency ratings is the annual fuel utilization efficiency (AFUE) which is commonly used by all manufacturers of boilers. Consumers can use this rating to compare different products on the market, such as gas condensing boilers which can yield a 20% investment return for its users. Geothermal heating and cooling systems are the newest energy efficient technology on the market. These systems have four different systems that work better than air-source heat pumps, and are designed to operate by using less energy.

Another innovative boiler is the tankless water heater systems that have three key success factors. The AFUE ratings are between 83% and 94%; space is saved; and, the safety control system prevents scalding or other injuries by keeping the water temperature regulated.

Choosing the right boiler will depend on the needs of the homeowner, the current heating system in use, and what the budget allows. The decision making process is helped with the tax credits and rebate incentives that the Federal government and other agencies and manufacturers are offering to encourage increased use.

It's true that the installation of a boiler can be rather pricey, but what isn't expensive these days? I have saved a lot of money over the past few years, thanks to the boiler.

We found out how expensive it is to have a boiler installed, but really want one. We are flying our nephew in to install it for us. We will both benefit. We will save on the installation and he will have a free vacation.

I had no idea that a boiler could save so much on energy bills. We are going to be building a new home next year and it would make sense to install one right off the bat.

It can really help you save money if have someone who knows how to install a boiler system. I had one installed and I think the installation actually cost me more then the boiler itself.
